I have a lot of people inquiring about out of state frosted glasses similar to those given away by the Blakely Gas Stations and Blakely Oil Co. here in Arizona.
I wanted to share important information that these items are not Blakely but, were also used to promote smaller independent oil companies and gas stations of the period.
The Oklahoma Indian glassware set is one of the most commonly found glassware and dishware set that is similar to Blakely's. These glasses and china were given away by Knox Oil and came with the pitcher and wooden tray. The Oklahoma tray is often confused with the Blakely tray, it is same shape, design and is branded similar to the Blakely trays. The Oklahoma trays that I have seen usually have the shape of the State of Oklahoma branded into the center of the tray (pitcher corral) and will have kachina indian shaped branded around the rest of the tray. Below is a photo of the Oklahoma Indian set as a sample.
Ohio's Bonded Oil Co. also gave away frosted glasses with Indian's on them as well. I have not yet found a complete set to see if they also included a pitcher and tray or not.
Colorado has a frosted glass set given away by Carter Oil Co. The box and 1 glass are displayed below.
Mohawk Oil and Mobil Oil also have sets of frosted glasses that were given away as promotional items.
From what I can tell, some of these sets as are popular to collect in Oklahoma and Ohio as the Blakely set are for Arizona.
I hope that this information helps. If you are looking for something specific, I suggest that you utililze the internet to search the specific glass and design, you may just find what you are looking for.
